Roadmapping emerged from industry and has evolved over the decades, through improvements refinements made by both practitioners research groups, to become an established extensively deployed method. Roadmaps are popular in helping convey communicate essence of strategic plans, organizational initiatives, program pathways, future courses action. But what actually constitutes a roadmap? What unique attributes that distinguish them other journey-mapping approaches forward-looking business documents? Drawing upon active involvement industrial engagements, applied research, tool development, supported literature, roadmap now been defined as a structured visual chronology intent .
